Sustainability and Thailand Eco Lodges-Tours is starting to be more important than it was in this country. Eco consciousness was not very important in the past, however that is slowly starting to change. Many NGO’s (nongovernmental agencies) have a presence in Thailand and are working to address the most serious problems. The newly forming ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) contacted me in the summer of 2014 to help them put together a workshop on ecotourism as they want to pursue that venue of tourism. One of our Eco Lodges, FaaSai Resort and Spa, put together a presentation for this group. It was written up by Bronwen Evans from FaaSai here: Rethink Asian Ecotourism. One of the images from the workshop is below. We hope to see more Thailand Eco Lodges and Tours as NGO’s and the government work towards sustainability.
